Jason Parker
U15 ACE OKOTOKS WHITE (HEAD COACH)
Jason is excited to bring his unique background as a retired member of the Canadian National Long Track Speed Skating Team to the Aces organization. Representing Canada on the world stage for 12 years, Jason capped his athletic career with a silver medal in the Men's Team Pursuit at the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics.
His passion for volleyball has been a constant throughout his life having played for more than 35 years. With experience in both competitive indoor and beach volleyball, he developed his skills from a young age. During university, Jason also had the opportunity to play high-level volleyball with his roommate, a member of the U of C Dinos and the Canadian National B Team. These experiences shaped his understanding of the game and further fueled his love for the sport.
As a coach with over 35 years of experience across different sports, including five years coaching junior high volleyball, Jason is dedicated to helping athletes grow both on and off the court. He believes sports are a powerful way to teach life skills like perseverance, resilience, leadership, and adaptability.
Jason's coaching approach is deeply influenced by his extensive studies in high-performance mindset, transformation, and the subconscious mind. Drawing on his own experiences as an Olympic athlete, he incorporates mindset coaching and personal growth into his training to help athletes thrive both as players and as people. Jason’s goal is to create a positive, growth-oriented environment where every athlete feels supported in reaching their potential.
A love for volleyball runs deep in Jason’s family. His wife is a former university volleyball player with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, and together they have shared their passion for the sport with their children, making volleyball a family way of life.
Jason is thrilled to lead this Ace team and is committed to helping each player grow, improve, become their best both on and off the court, and develop a lasting love for the sport.
